Jose Pillich, PhD

FOUNDER

With a passion for sustainability, from social to environmental, Jose has spent over 15 years in the consultancy and interdisciplinary research sectors. His extensive experience in geospatial data analysis and research has been used by urban planners, policymakers, transit agencies, and the financial services industry to help make a more equitable and sustainable world.

Jose uses geospatial data to understand the effects of the built environment and climate on vulnerable populations. Helping cities adapt to climate change while prioritizing and elevating community needs. His work on climate risk management has helped cities and agencies in the US and Canada clearly define sea-level rise and stormwater issues to build green infrastructure, mitigating climate impacts on communities. His research on climate effects on communities, the energy and transportation sectors, and green infrastructure has been published in academic journals.

Growing up on military bases around the US and Germany, he’s traveled the world to over 20 countries. Jose has a Master of Urban Planning from Hunter College, GIS certification from Lehman College, and a PhD in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the City University of New York.
